“Sanjeevani “is a blood bank in Nagpur. It indirectly caters to the needs of the people of Nagpur and nearby areas through hospitals. Sanjeevani is a regular supplier to the various hospitals of Nagpur. Mr. Bhargav saxena,the owner who also happens to be the Manager of the blood bank has to look into its operations as well as commercials. He has hired nine employees to assist him in his work.There are six employees in operations,one in accounts, one in IT and one secretary in admin department . The typical daily operations of the company required supplying deliverables(blood) to their clients and collecting bloods from the donors and preserving them at appropriate places , and book keeping .
Business problem: Mr. Saxena has to lay special effort on recording the names of the employee, the hospital they delivered to, time taken for each delivery etc. Moreover the employees worked in day,night and regular shifts. Many a times , employees used to give proxy attendances. It has become a daily problem for him to handle these issues.To take note of all these things individually was a very cumbersome task for the manager as he could not be present there round the clock .
As a result the productivity started dipping gradually.
Hence Mr. saxena decided to move on the book keeping practices of the company to the
computer system that can ease out his burden a little and let each
employee know their delivarables at any instant of time.He looked out for
a simple application but wasn’t able to find one. He looked at KPI
software for workforce management. It was good but very complicated. It had
many applications that was not required. He did not want any report or
financial accounting stuff. Neither he wanted any customer relationship
management. He wanted a workforce management software which could be easily
handled.. Then he looked for “Work Force Growth” software. The software was
very good.The interface was also very good. But it was suitable for mid size
organisations of 500 to 1000 people. Since he
wanted to maintain a very small number of people ,he needed a much simpler one.
Fortunately he found out “Web Human resource software”.
This software perfectly
fitted into the requirements of the manager . It had all the functionalities
that he needed. He could maintain the record of each employee which included
his date of joining, task assigned to each of them , number of deliveries made
etc.
The software provided him with ample information on the daily deliveries
of blood. Now, he could unbiasedly do performance evaluation of each of the
employees.The details of the leaves taken and attendance recording of
everyone could be easily done now.
The system log information for each and every employee was now
available to him at a go.
